What this page covers

This explains, in plain language, what actually happens to your voice, your conversation content, and your account data when you use VANI. Where a claim below depends on how a feature is actually built, we describe the real, current implementation — not an aspiration.

Your voice recordings — pronunciation scoring

Pronunciation scoring, speaking-speed measurement, and word-by-word feedback run on OpenAI's Whisper model, hosted on our own server. This processing happens entirely on our infrastructure — your raw audio for this feature is not sent to any third-party API. We do not store your raw voice recordings after they are scored; only the resulting text transcript and scores are kept, tied to your training session.

Conversational replies — Training, Interview, Discussion, and the free Talk-to-Rekha demo

When VANI talks back to you — in Training, Interview, Discussion mode, or the free "Talk to Rekha" / sample interview demo — your spoken words are first transcribed locally (see above), and that transcribed text is then sent to Google's Gemini API to generate the AI's reply, and again to generate the spoken audio of that reply. This is a genuine third-party service call, and it is how the live, low-latency conversation is made possible — a fully local large-language model was tested on our hosting and was too slow to hold a real-time conversation.

We do not send your raw audio recordings to Google, only the transcribed text content of what you said and what VANI says back. We do not control Google's own retention policy for API requests; see Google's own API terms for how they handle data submitted through their API.

What we store, and for how long

We keep: your account details (email, display name, preferred language), your level progress and badges, training-session metadata (language, level, duration, speaking speed), and assessment results. We do not keep raw audio recordings. We do not currently have an automatic data-retention expiry — your training history is kept for as long as your account exists, the same way most learning-progress apps keep your history so your progress isn't lost.

Account deletion

We do not yet have a self-service "delete my account" button in the app. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email support@rudrasec.in from the email address on your account, and we will action it manually.

Payments

Subscription payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not receive or store your card or UPI details — Razorpay handles that directly. Before any subscription is activated, our server independently verifies Razorpay's cryptographic payment signature; we do not activate access based on a browser redirect alone.

Who can access your data

Your account and progress data is accessible to RTS (Rudra Tech Services) staff for the purpose of operating and supporting the product — for example, approving a payment or responding to a support request. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
